The Journey Begins in 24 Hours!

In just 24 hours we will be on our way to Niger! Our DRC group - Alison, Nancy, Jim, Sue, Lauren, and Sara (and Elmer who is already there) - all appreciated the lovely send-off our church family gave us at the worship services. It is so uplifting to know that we go with all your prayers and good wishes.

We also thank you for your contributions toward the extra items we are bringing for the missionaries we will be meeting there. The little items that we take for granted (Crystal Light Drink Mix, Oreo Cookies, Tuna Fish, sheets and towels, just to name a few) are not available in Niger. They are most appreciated.

We will be chauffeured to JFK airport by two wonderful saints who volunteered to take us there - Paul Hesse and Gary Gold. Thanks to you both! We'll be leaving JFK just after 7pm tomorrow and arriving (via Paris) in Niamey around 4:30pm. Please keep those prayers going as we embark on this "Journey of Faith."

It's great to hear from Kay and Sue (their wonderful blog is at http://www.kayandsue.blogspot.com/). They said that a cold wave has blown through Niger. The high temperature was only a chilly 86 degrees! I'm packing extra sweaters!

I hope you will follow our updates on this blog as we share our thoughts, impressions and experiences via this site.
